LoL Voice Line Quiz — guess champions by their voice

LoL Voice Line Quiz — guess champions by their voice — game preview

Some League of Legends champions give themselves away in a single syllable — a laugh, a growl, an accent you have heard a thousand times in champion select. Others are far harder: quiet voices, filtered or distorted lines, champions you almost never face. Echo is the PentaGuess audio mode built on exactly that gap: it plays one champion voice line and gives you five guesses to name who said it.

The clips come from the champions' own in-game voice-over — the taunts, jokes, movement quotes and combat barks you hear on the Rift — so this LoL voice line quiz tests something a splash art quiz never touches: your ear. Turn the sound up, put headphones on if you can, and see how many of the 160+ champions you can place before a single pixel of them appears.

A fully dedicated voice-line mode is still in the works: Echo already lays the groundwork with real audio clips to identify. You will also find voice questions in the Grand Quiz.

How to play

  1. Open Echo and hit play. A single voice line from one League of Legends champion is played — no image, no name, no hint on screen.
  2. Type the champion you think said it. You get five guesses per clip, so a first wrong answer doesn't end the round.
  3. Replay the audio as often as you need and listen past the words: accent, pitch, delivery and the effects layered over the voice give away as much as the quote itself.
  4. Play solo to test your own ear, or in co-op so a friend can catch the champions you can't place.

FAQ

Where do the voice lines come from?

Every clip is taken from a champion's own in-game voice-over in League of Legends — taunts, jokes, movement quotes and combat lines — so what you hear in Echo is what you hear on the Rift.

How many guesses do I get?

Five per clip. You can replay the audio as many times as you like before committing to an answer.

Do I need headphones?

Not strictly, but they help. Some voices are recognisable in half a second, while others only give themselves away through a small detail in the mix that phone speakers tend to flatten.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Echo has a co-op mode, so you can listen together and pool your guesses instead of playing on your own.
